Desc: This class introduces the student to the Black Swan Comedy style of improv. We cover the importance of play, building compelling scenes with the simple yet awesome power of ‘yes, and’, how to create context (the who, what, and where), the creative power of the group, reacting vs thinking (or how your brain can be your worst enemy), creating patterns and connections, where does humour come from?, confronting your fear of ‘being on the spot,’ considering your audience, trust, and, perhaps most important of all, how to do all this simply.

Are you wondering who Tennessee Williams is? What’s all the fuss about Shakespeare and why is Film Noir always at the tip of the audience’s tongues? It’s time to further explore the world of genres. Come out and get your “Genre On.” Learn how to break down a genre, look a character archetypes, classic plot lines and more. It is a great way to improve and refine your improv skill set.
